Artreach National Arts Festival 2014 is Here

The 2014 National Arts Festival – Artreach, is bringing the arts alive around Saint Lucia – running from March through to mid-May, But long before that, Saint Lucians can enjoy Pan Music at Junior Panorama on Sunday 30th  March at the NCC Grounds – 6 Pan-sides battle to be judged the best. Follow this with a visit to the Visual Arts Exhibition at the Top Floor, Blue Coral Mall from Monday 31st March to Saturday 5th April.

Next get ready for a week of Performing Arts – get going on Monday 7th with a selection of local films – the hit 21 Days, Out a Street 2 and a short film featuring Cocoboy & Girard – $20; Wednesday 9th, you can take in our rising theatre talents: Zenaida Productions, Youth on Fire and Radio Bad & Out come together for an enthralling night- $25; Get into Performance Poetry ‘The Word in Art’ on Thursday 10th April with Headphunk & Ponm Damou – prepare to be surprised…there’s more to this night than you may think! – $15; The Weekend bring the Festival Week to a climax with Junior Dance showcasing 10 troupes, $25 Adults and $10 Children followed by Senior Dance with 10 more troupes, $25 – Saturday 12th : Sunday closes the week with a celebration of Music – $25. And for Arts Enthusiasts who know they can’t afford to miss any of these great shows – season tickets cost just $100

All tickets are available from the Cultural Development Foundation Offices and at the Door at each event

After a short break, we get out and about into the communities of Anse la Raye and Babonneau: Anse la Raye on Friday 25th April, in a free Festival, we team up to make the Fish Fry Friday night come alive with musical performances, including ASAP Band, Charles Cadet Orchestra, Cecilian Rayes, new band on the scene NRG and the winners of the Jete Dance competition Fundamentals and lots more!

In Babonneau on Sunday 27th April – free again, we bring you Montego Bay, L’Addition Band and lots of our African rooted music and dance – Belair, Kont, Solo – food, music, a little performance poetry and plenty youth talent!

The action culminates with the Artists’ Market at the Coco Cabana Car Park in Rodney Bay – Saturday 3rd May – a festive mix of arts, crafts, local designer goods on sale, mixed in with light entertainment, food and mini-demonstrations and tutorials for those curious to know more about how to create art and crafts.
