The Cultural Development Foundation is partnering with key stakeholders to undertake a capacity development workshop in-line with the UNESCO’s global capacity-building strategy on safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage, with the aim of stimulating critical thinking and analysis; promoting nationally driven intangible cultural heritage safeguarding measures, and maximizing opportunities for safeguarding of Saint Lucia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The workshop also seeks to build and reinforce the capacities of participant organizations for the implementation of the ICH Convention at the national level and to contribute effectively to the promotion of and conclusive appreciation for Saint Lucia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (practices), in order that these practices may be properly processed, preserved and appreciated. Workshop participants will also learn how to address specific challenges and opportunities facing the ICH safeguarding in Saint Lucia and also discuss the role and benefit of the ICH inventorying.
To this end, agencies and individuals are invited to nominate a suitable representative to participate in this event from 25th-29th March, 2019 in the Conference Room of the Cultural Development Foundation.
