The Cultural Development Foundation and the Department of Sustainable Development through the Iyanola Project is pleased to invite residents from the communities of Beausejour, Gros Islet, Monchy, Boguis, and La Resource, Dennery to participate in its CULTURAL HERITAGE SUB-PROJECT Training and Development component.
Training starts on April 15th and goes through to August 2019. Productions for the Iyanola Project will start in September and go through to December 2019.
PURPOSE AND PHILOSOPHY
The purpose of the Training component of the IYANOLA project is to provide a platform for skills and professional development of potential artistes and performers for the production element of the IYANOLA tours.
The Philosophy by which the Training and Development component of the project is developed rests on a belief that skill development and enhancement is based on intensive, interactive engagement, and a process of creating performers of high caliber.
The training component will focus on all the areas that are required for the theatrical productions to be staged and will include aspects of management and coordination for sustainability, replication and possible extension of the pilot project.
TRAINING AREAS
The Training and Development Programme will include full-time training in a number of pertinent areas associated with the Performing Arts. All trainees will also subscribe to a Life Skills programme at the beginning of the training period. The programme will expose all trainees to introductory skill-based concepts in Theatre Arts, Dance, Music and Singing, and Business and Entrepreneurship.
