Francis DeLima was born on August 3rd 1974 to a Portuguese father and Saint Lucian mother. He began his musical career as a DJ in the early nineties. He would later team up with producer Adam Gillmor and saxophonist Rob ‘Zi’ Taylor to form the band Kronic Heights Crew in 1997. In 2000, Leebo would leave Saint Lucia to pursue his dream of becoming a Sound Engineer. He returned in 2003, and formed the company Heights Music Production.
The production company worked alongside many Saint Lucian talents, providing superior services. A common thread in recollections of Leebo was his passion for what he did and his dedication to giving his best to whatever he set out to do and his hopeful spirit.
“Leebo was a great and exceptional human being who knew the importance of personal development. He was a conscious man, well-read and a student of life who looked beyond the mere physical. He was a spiritual man who chose to see deep below the surface. I love how he continually delved into esoteric subjects and mysteries of the Universe. Francis “Leebo” will continue to have a positive impact on my life.” ~ Mantius Cazaubon
“He was my go-to person, not just for music related things, but for positive vibes…He read widely and we spoke for extended periods on philosophy and spirituality.” ~ Werner ‘Semi’ Francis
“What I remember most about Leebo was how warm and welcoming he was and how without hesitation he was willing to share what he knew and had learnt with you. He was humble.” ~ Aimran ‘Panman Aimran’ Simmons
“Leebo had an insatiable appetite for music. I was impressed with him generally but what struck me most was in how similar we were – particularly concerned about who we are becoming, not what we are becoming. Not only did Leebo have unwavering faith in a superior being, but he believed in the goodness of humanity. He found the strength to give hope to others even at his lowest. There is now a void in the family of humanity. He was a wonderful human being.” ~ Ronald ‘Boo’ Hinkson
“Thanks for being a good mentor and a role model. Not only did you spur my growth, you taught me how to mentor others so that what I learnt from you will continue to live on. I always will look up to you, you have proven to be a loving and caring person, a peacemaker, both in the studio and out in the world. Thank you for being there and teaching me so much. You have been such an integral part of my career. I hope to inspire others as you have inspired me. You my friend are a LEGEND. “ ~ Courtney ‘Curty’ Louis
