It is with a deep sense of loss that the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) mourns the passing of Gordon “Gene” Leon. “Chacom” as he was affectionately known, was a true friend of the foundation and gave diligently of his time and talents to the development of music.
He was a member of the Performing Arts sub-committee within the National Arts Festival Planning Committee along with George “Fish” Alphonse, Florita Nicolas, Mc. Donald Dixon, Gandolph St. Clair and Kennedy “Boots” Samuel. Together, they organised activities which sort to develop the performing arts in Saint Lucia.
The CDF extends sincere condolences to his immediate family. May they find strength during this time, to cope with this loss. Our sympathy also goes out to his associates and friends in the music fraternity. May they be inspired by his leadership, love for and commitment to the development of music in Saint Lucia.
