Dramacan Talent House is beaming with joy and gratitude as the team celebrates the completion of “The Gwo Pwel Rehabilitation Centre Part Two ” off the heels of Part One in collaboration with the Cultural Development Foundation as part of The Virtual ArtReach Festival 2020.
Each and every player went above and beyond and sacrificed in more ways than one to bring it all home. Creating work in this pandemic proved to be extremely tedious as COVID-19 managed to distress the production at all levels. Much remained out of our control, it challenged us to be flexible and in a constant state of problem solving. The anxiety was high but our will was strong and everyone was determined to deliver.
We know that this is just the beginning for us and we welcome the love and support we received for our feature presentation! Thank you to the Nobel Laureate Committee for commissioning Dramacan Talent House to produce work and culminate the Festival. All our sponsors, your support fueled our efforts and secured the completion of the production, it also means that you too see the value and importance the Arts and theatre has in our society.
Theatre is a collaborative art and the number of lives touched, creatives engaged and the lifelong friendships created can never be quantified in dollar value. It is our intention to be in a state of constant creation, grooming talent and producing original work for the stage and film. Our next production is slated for September 2022 “Shorts, Skits and Sketches”, a two hour show capturing stories written by young aspiring writers, directors and actors from our team.
