The Cultural Development Foundation in collaboration with Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort conducted a workshop, “Living Green – everyone counts”, on Wednesday July 15th at the Conference Room of the CDF from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
The workshop was facilitated by Finola Jennings Clarke and Perry Baptiste, from the respective collaborating entities, both of whom share a passion for conservation practices.
In 2010, Finola Jennings Clarke, who now heads the Business Development and Marketing Department at the CDF facilitated a workshop on Green Waste Management for hotels with support from Travel Foundation UK.
CEO of Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort Mark Ozawa and his wife Linda Ozawa, who in the past have assisted with the hosting of exhibitions and the sale of Saint Lucian artwork, again lent their support to the CDF by providing the expertise of the head of their “green team” in the person of Perry Baptiste for the successful running of the workshop.
The aims of the workshop included assisting staff in a) reducing energy consumption, b) eliminating wastage by identifying common habits that encourage such and c) highlighting areas of savings which they stand to benefit from by changing seemingly harmless practices.
