Saint Lucia celebrates Fèt La Magéwit on October 17 annually. Members of the Magwit fraternity pay homage to the globe amaranth clad in the finest blue, purple and yellow apparel. This year, the community of La Ressource, Dennery hosted the festivities with a grand celebration commencing with a Church Service at the Church of Saint Michael.
After having received their traditional blessings from Father Ignatius Dominic-Savio Cetoute, groups from Derniere Riviere, Aux Lyons, Dennery, Grande Riviere, Vieux-Fort, Soufriere, Richfond Combined School and Laborie paraded through the streets of the community with effervescent singing and music making. Group presentations topped off the day’s activities in the courtyard of the La Ressource RC School.
