Angela Christine Samuel is a multi-talented award-winning Saint Lucian artiste who for the past 40 years has earned recognition for her impressive skills in different artistic genres. Presently a retired teacher of Theatre Arts from the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School, she has received much national acclaim for her work as a dancer, dance tutor and choreographer. Today, Christine works under her Christy Creations brand, using her extensive artistic skills in the visual arts to produce original ladies bags and accessories that reflect vibrant Saint Lucian/Caribbean artistry and beauty. Every individual Christy Creations item is a bona fide original, one-of-a-kind with a great story of its own.
Christine uses creative hand painting, and carefully selected accessories on her personally designed and crafted bags to establish her unique design signature. Christy Creations has developed into an extraordinary brand, featured in the stores of Sea Island Cotton and Howelton Estate 1896, Saint Lucia. On June 30, 2018 Christine was recognized for her great work and received the Award of Excellence – Fashion Innovation from Caribbean Style & Culture in Washington DC, USA.
In 2021, she also published her first book. “Dance Footprints: 40 years of Dance in Saint Lucia is the first published historical record of dance and dancers in Saint Lucia. Starting from the sixties, a time of arts and cultural renaissance and coming to today’s dancescape, she treats us to vignettes of these creative artist and choreographers, their performances, studio spaces …, the long long-forgotten alongside the well-recognized stars of those stages.” [source: TheVoice]
