Highlights from our 2019 Calendar
Poet, Playwright, Actor and Singer, Gandolph St. Clair, SLMM, was the author of several short stories and plays which include Patent Man (1985), The Moon in Daylight (1987), 4-2 For True (1998), Fire Fall (2003), The Third Umpire (2013), Just in Case: The Hustlers and Just in Case (2007) and One Plus One (1989).
He was an accomplished actor, performing roles in Lorraine Hansberry’s “Raisin in the Sun”: Julius Caesar. In 1985, he gave a memorable performance for Walcott’s “Dessalines” for which he won the M&C Fine Arts Best Actor Award. In 1997, he played the role of Dr. Bastien in the film “The Creature” by Peter Benchley, starring Craig T. Nelson and Kim Cattrall. The movie was filmed in Saint Lucia.
He served as Director of Carnival from April 1999 to October 2001 and Special Events Officer for Carnival with the CDF from 2001 until 2013. During that period, he made an invaluable contribution towards the development of Community Carnival.

Best Actor Award, M&C Fine Arts for performance in Walcott’s “Dessalines”
Honored by the Saint Lucia Public Library for his invaluable contribution to the Literary Arts in Saint Lucia (2014)
Saint Lucia Medal of Merit (Gold) for long and dedicated contribution in the field of Culture and the Arts.
