In 2007, TJ made a bold decision to step out his musical comfort zone of gospel and R & B and embrace the soca music genre, where he was crowned as Saint Lucia‟s first Groovy Soca Monarch. TJ‟s versatility in Jazz and Soca has afforded him the opportunity to perform on many international stages including Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Martinique, Barbados, Paris and Canada. His outstanding composition “Allez‟ received widespread national acclaim and propelled him to the finals of the 2016 International Soca Monarch Competition in Trinidad & Tobago.
The International Reggae and World Music Awards bestowed the award for Best Calypso/Soca Entertainer to TJ in 2016. His 2018 song “Vent‟ is one of his most popular, hitting the local and international airwaves and creating an unprecedented level of excitement among his fans. It has been dubbed ‟the people‟s anthem‟.
He has gone on to accomplish great things for his career and as an ambassador for Saint Lucia.
