Live Sound Engineering Workshop to be conducted in Saint Lucia

Earsightmusic, a UK-based sound engineering and event management company, established in 2007, has launched a series of training workshops in various islands throughout the Caribbean. On October 6th and 7th 2017, Earsightmusic will be conducting a two (2) day Live Sound Engineering Workshop in Saint Lucia. The workshop is scheduled for the Cultural Development Foundation Conference Room on Barnard Hill from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on both days.

 

About the Workshop

Title: Headroom: Advanced Live Sound Engineering

Content:
This two (2) day workshop introduces participants to the concepts of live sound and the
methods and practices of the live sound engineer. Topics covered will include
Microphones, Speakers, Cables, Equalization, Processors, Critical Listening, Mixing
Principles and System Components.

Who Should Attend:
This workshop is suited to live sound engineers, technicians, and volunteers in need of a
better understanding of, or a refresher in live sound engineering.

Outcomes:
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to execute the basic functions of a live
sound engineer, such as setting up a stage and mixing live sound.

Materials:
Participants will receive digital/ printed handouts.

Duration/ Dates:
The workshop consists of two (2) sessions; one on each day. Each session will last for five
(5) hours, amounting to a total of ten (10) contact hours.

Support:

Participants will have access to support beyond the workshop via e-mail as well as
phone, whatsapp and social media.

Certification:
A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of this workshop.

Cost:

The workshop fee is one hundred and eighty dollars ($180 USD). This price covers
training, materials, and certificates.

Payment:

A deposit of one hundred dollars ($100 USD) is required to secure your place in the
workshop. This deposit must be made at least three (3) days before the first day of the
workshop. The balance of ($80 USD) will be due on the first day of the workshop.

Discounts are available for groups of three (3) or more. Tailored courses can be booked

About the facilitator

Mr. Kevin Sones is a licensed Sound Engineer who has amassed over twenty (20) years
experience on international music circuit. He has worked in studios, concerts, on tours, as
well as a host of sound functions including sound system design, installation and
consultation.

In addition to his experience, Mr Sones studied Sound Engineering and Recording Arts in
United Kingdom. While in the UK, Kevin’s musical development and involvement in the
music industry increased tremendously. He worked with some of the top UK and
American Praise and Worship Leaders. These include ministers such as: Shirley Caesar,
Kirk Franklin, Donnie Mc Clurkin, James Fortune, Tasha Cobbs, Micah Stampley,
Michelle Williams, Israel Houghton, Muyiwa & Riversongs and Noel Robinson, amongst
others.

He has also worked with a vast variety of secular artistes, including: Billy Ocean,
Bonnie Tyler, Tre Songz, Fantasia, Beverly McKnight, Courtney Pine, and a host of others.
Kevin has designed and facilitated a number of workshops, geared at equipping those in
the music industry such as DJs and musicians to technicians, engineers, and technicians.
He has also consulted on, designed and installed sound reinforcement systems for
theatres, and other multipurpose venues including houses of worship.
