ABOUT THE COMPETITION, EXHIBITION AND BOOK
Cartoon Competition: What if your pencil was a tool against forced labor?
GENEVA (ILO News) – Cartoonists from all over the world had the opportunity to shed light on the injustice of forced labor, through a global cartoon competition.
The competition, launched on 10 March, aimed to raise awareness of forced labor through striking images and visual messages that need little or no words. It was organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Human Resources Without Borders (RHSF), in collaboration with Cartooning for Peace.
Among the 460 cartoons received, 60 were selected by the jury to create this exhibition and book, entitled “Visions of forced labor”. These cartoons will be revealed for the first time on 30 November in Geneva, at the Palais des Nations, headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva, under the auspices of Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, and Mr. Jérôme Bonnafont, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations Office at Geneva.
