Poetry Night Live 2018 – Sounds of the Castries Underground: Out Of Darkness

Poetry Night Live: Sounds of the Castries Underground (Out Of Darkness) was the 2018 edition of the literary component of the National Arts Festival (NAF).  The event highlighted the work of  Saint Lucian poet Adrian Augier whose 45 minute set featured Kenson Hippolyte on keyboard and Dianna Philip on vocals.  Cadet Street in the heart of the city was transformed into an intimate performance space where literature and spoken word lovers were treated to interpretations of Augier’s illustrious body of work performed by the featured poet as well as original pieces from the invited poets.

The audience, close to one hundred in number, was treated to performance pieces from Tori Leonce, Garner Raymond,  Swithin Cornelle, Fayola Lubin, Runley Gordon, Ethan Fletcher, Perlina Murray, June Mederick, Sadia Chandler, Kerr Glasgow, Felicia Montoute and Krystal Nestor.  The Cultural Development Foundation(CDF) recognizes collaborators and sponsors including: the Government of Saint Lucia, Castries Constituency Council, Landmark Events, d&b Sound Company, A.F. Valmont Limited, Cox & Company Limited, Hardest Hard Restaurant & Bar, Joseph Shipping Agency, Fineline Graphics and KLAB Musical Productions Inc.
