The Foundation, together with the Arts and Culture fraternity are profoundly saddened by her passing. Saint Lucia has lost a true Gem, Music Icon and selfless daughter of the soil. A mentor who impacted the lives and careers of our many musicians and artistes in Saint Lucia and the world, a testimony to her indelible contribution.

Joyce later enrolled at the Trinity College of Music, London.
After graduating from Trinity College of Music in the United Kingdom, in 1967, Joyce Auguste became the Music Supervisor for Schools at the Ministry of Education where she dedicated 32 years of her life in service to state and children. She also served as music tutor at Saint Lucia’s Teacher’s Training College from 1969-1985 and as announcer for Radio Saint Lucia from 1976- 1981.
