This year’s lecture, “A Whole People” is presented by Dr. Adrian Augier, Saint Lucian Artist, Economist and Cultural Entrepreneur.
A sitting Senator in the Upper Chamber of the Saint Lucia House of Assembly, with a background in Development Economics, Adrian Augier is an award-winning poet and producer. His poetry has appeared in a number of anthologies and he has written and produced several major theatrical work of art. In 2009, he was presented with the NDATT Caribbean Cacique Award for his contribution to the development and integration of Caribbean Theatre and in 2010, he was awarded the Caribbean Laureate for Arts and Letters by the ANSA Foundation.
One of his publications, “Navel String”, explores the themes of loss of equity identity and relevance against a landscape of irrevocable change, whilst at the same time capturing the texture of Saint Lucian life, politics and history, though several generations with a voice that is both passionate and prophetic.
