Stronger Together, Music for Life Concert to Benefit Saint Lucian Musicians.

A Coalition of Saint Lucia’s Music Industry partners and practitioners have teamed up to provide support for artistes through the ‘Stronger Together. Music for Life Concert’. On Friday, June 12, 2020, on Calabash TV at 8:30 p.m., an incredible virtual concert awaits patrons from all over in support of Saint Lucian musicians and artistes.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation of two of Saint Lucia’s major creative and music based festivals- Jazz and Carnival, the closure of hotels, clubs and other entertainment spots, resulting in a dismal situation for musicians, artistes and other industry practitioners. The increasing uncertainty in the industry brought about by this current reality has prompted this response in aid of the artistes.

The current circumstances have however birthed much innovation with a multitude of virtual events, where musicians and artistes have been called upon to give of their creative genius.

This group has wholeheartedly contributed to many fund-raising events and benefit concerts in support of our nurses, police, firemen and other front-line workers, with little to no income and support in aid of themselves. The time is fitting to take action in support of our musicians and artistes.

Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Caribbean Collective Organization for Music Rights (ECCO), Mr. Davis Joseph commented on the purpose of the Stronger Together. Music for Life Concert saying, “One can argue that throughout this pandemic, music has been the one thing that most people have turned to for psychological relief. I think this has truly amplified the essence of ‘Music is Life’, given music has been an escape for many during these difficult times.

This benefit concert is our bid as musicians, artistes and industry professionals to raise money and establish a fund for the industry that will act as financial aid in current times of need and in the future. The Music for Life concert will feature Saint Lucian artistes and music of various genres.” Mr. Joseph added, “We’re encouraging you, if you love music to purchase a $15 ticket to the concert, or to chip in, in whatever way you can.”

Tickets can be purchased and contributions made at www.easyclicktickets.com.

Partners and sponsors include Export Saint Lucia, Cultural Development Foundation (CDF), Balance Inc., The Wave, Rendevous, Blazin FM, Saint Lucia National Trust, Azuk Events, Oceans Brand Consulting and Studio 758.
