The Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to St. Lucia Her Excellency Leiff Liubliana Escalona Barrueta in collaboration with the Cultural Development Foundation is hosting a workshop in Traditional Venezuelan Folk Dance during the week of August 18th and 23rd 2014. The workshop will be facilitated by a prominent Venezuelan Dance couple who are visiting St. Lucia for that purpose and will take place at the National Cultural Centre at Barnard’s Hill, Castries.
The workshop will be hosted for the following groups of dancers at the following times:
- 7-11 year old children – Monday 18th to Friday 22nd – 9:00am to 11:30am
- 12 – 17 year old children – Monday 18th to Friday 22nd – 3:00pm to 5:30pm
- 18 and older adults – Monday 18th to Friday 22nd – 5:30pm to 8:00pm
The workshop will culminate with a public event on Saturday 23rd August 2014 showcasing the folk dances learned during the week, and presenting some St. Lucian Traditional Folk dance to the Venezuelan guests.
Participation for children is free while adults are required to pay a registration fee of $30.
